From 2018 through 2020 Ms. Montague sat on the inaugural Board of Directors of Kalamazoo Defender, Inc. Kalamazoo Defender was created through the insights and hard work of local attorneys, former judges, mental and public health experts, and community advocates working with the under-served of Kalamazoo County and is dedicated to a “holistic” approach to criminal defense. Ms. Montague was one of the local attorneys who had the privilege of helping to create this novel approach to indigent defense.
